Shane Dowd
Prior to taking up my current position of NSW Toolbox Champion, I was employed as the Online/Flexible Learning Officer for TAFE NSW, North Coast Institute* for two years. I have been a full-time IT teacher at Macksville Campus since 1991, and a member of the 3680 eCommerce learningware project development team. Previously I was employed in surveying, IT support and programming positions with large multi-national companies for twenty years.
I
have undertaken many courses during the past 5 years in flexible/online
study mode as well as being an online course facilitator, so I have a strong
appreciation of student and teacher issues relating to flexible learning.
I have travelled through many countries around the world (including the Khyber Pass!) and have worked and studied in London. I am an active surf patrol member, have rowed in surfboat competitions and currently run the water for the local footy team.
