Janet Hewson
Acting Senior Coordinator
Janet has worked as Manager for Staff Learning in Sydney Institute for almost three years and was the Manager of Staff Learning and Development in the former Southern Sydney Institute.
In these roles she has worked in collaboration with managers and staff in identifying section/discipline needs and takes a pivotal developmental role in leading the facilitation of change programs, particularly in the areas of assessment validation and assessment, Certificate IV, recognition and the implementation of training packages. She has also been the member of working groups at Sydney Institute for leadership and business capability development.
As a project facilitator on a number of Reframing the Future projects and Communities of Practice, Janet was sponsored as a National Change Agent in 2005 and lead in 2006 the formation of a Community of Practice for CEO’s and SEO’s in Sydney Institute to support an Institute wide perspective in working with the National Training system and strengthening relationships.
She has also worked with Head Teachers in a range of disciplines and facilitated groups of staff to provide support and develop strategies which have enabled the building of confidence in implementing training packages.
As a small business owner for 13 years, winner of small business awards and employer of apprentices, Janet’s workplace experience provides a broad perspective in her understanding of enterprise needs and perspectives and the benefits of working with industry and employers.
