Greg Madden
Chief Education Officer
Greg Madden has been working at the TAFE NSW Illawarra Institute for the past twenty years, although during that time he has also been a private business consultant, worked as the Director of Studies at the Shanghai Commercial Accounting School and been the General Manager of the ARDC Glass Factory in Hanoi, Vietnam.
In 2005 Greg undertook a research project that looked at ‘Differentiated Delivery within the classroom context’ and in 2006 worked in collaboration with the ‘Teaching Learning Resource Centre’on an ‘Integrated & Self-Paced Course based around a Business Case study.’
Before coming into TAFE NSW, Greg started his business career as a co-ordinator of a ‘worker co-operative program’ in Sydney’s Inner Western Suburbs and later as the NSW State Director of an national company that provided social welfare services to major companies within NSW industry.
At ICVET, Greg’s major focus has been as a primary and secondary researcher of Recognition Practice, Workplace Practice and Workforce Planning within TAFE NSW. Given his international experience, he has a keen interest in developing a deeper knowledge of ‘International VET’ too and has begun the work of developing quality international and national networks. Greg says that he’s very excited about the potential of ‘online forums’ as a cost effective mode for research, for teaching and for assessment.
