ICVET Update

ICVET Update: August 2005

Maret StaronFrom Maret Staron, Manager
Welcome to the first edition of our eZine (electronic magazine) and the launch of our new internet website. I’m delighted that you have joined us, to browse through our website, make new contacts and learn about some new ideas and practices in learning and teaching in vocational education and training (VET).

We are a newly formed centre called the TAFE NSW International Centre for VET Teaching and Learning, also known for short as ICVET (pronounced ‘I see VET’).

TAFE NSW

TAFE NSW is the largest provider of vocational education and training in the Southern Hemisphere, with over 500,000 people enrolled in programs and over 25,000 permanent and part time/casual teachers.
NSW Department of Education and Training Annual Report

As the name implies, we scan the horizon for exemplars in teaching and learning, new pieces of research, resources and international connections, as well as researching and analysing new trends and directions.

It’s early days for our website. We’ll be continually adding resources and new information, as well as providing you with an eZine and occasional forums.

Our knowledge is available to you all – we share with the world our teaching and learning practices and action research in TAFE NSW, and hope to expand this by supporting sharing across national and international boundaries.

So watch this space as our website grows and expands, as we aim to continually provide you with new stories and connections in teaching and learning in VET.
