The three themes for the conference

- workplace learning
have provided and interesting and somewhat eclectic range of presentations, workshops, conversations and showcases that should satisfy any conference delegate. What has been interesting is that this year we have more TAFE NSW staff presenting their ideas and projects than ever before.
Speakers
Our keynote speakers include
- Marie Persson, Deputy Director-General TAFE and Community Education
- Mark Callahan CEO WorldSkills. These speakers will provide TAFE NSW staff some interesting perspectives and food for thought about vocational education and training in the 21st century.
Other speakers of interest include
- Josie Misko from NCVER who will talk on the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD)’s interest in the progress of RPL in Australia see Josie's article on VET
- Kaye Bowman who has been involved in research looking at Employment Based Training that has come up with some interesting findings about on/off the job training for apprentices and trainees
- Daniel Abad from the Southern Queensland Institute Of TAFE will talk about his experience in developing an overseas partnership in the hospitality area
- Professor Ronnie Harding will speak on a timely subject educating for sustainability
- Numerous TAFE NSW teachers will lead concurrent sessions.
Conversations
Concurrent sessions will be held through for most of the day, allowing practitioners to hear from, and interact with, other practitioners from within NSW TAFE.
Live Webcast
On of the important elements to this conference is the webcasting of the plenary and main theatre sessions. The webcast is free and enables TAFE NSW people who are unable to attend in person to be a part of the day. Simply register for the webcast program and on the day you can view the proceeding live.
To conclude the day we have an Olympic Performance by Olympian Brennan Dowrick, that should not be missed, and a cocktail networking event to wind down the day.
